Today’s featured artist is Lizbeth with her submission titled “Rose”.
“Recently, delineation of genotype–phenotype relationships has been emerged in patients with PCD. For example, patients with absent inner dynein arm with microtubular disorganization who harbor a CCDC39 or CCDC40 mutation, have worse lung function compared with patients with outer dynein arm defects and DNAH5 mutation. In contrast, patients with RSPH1 mutations appear to have mild lung function impairment. However, caution is needed when interpreting these genotype–phenotype data based on a small number of patients.” ~ Clinical and genetic spectrum of primary ciliary dyskinesia in Chinese patients: a systematic review - Bo Peng, Yong-hua Gao, Jia-qi Xie, Xiao-wen He, Cong-cong Wang, Jin-fu Xu & Guo-jun Zhang
The PCD Artist Project is a collaborative effort by artist to raise awareness for PCD or primary ciliary dyskinesia and support the PCD Smiles program. Each artist who submitted art work to the project either has PCD or has a PCD friend or family member.
