Today’s featured artist is Reneé Dale with her submission titled “Garden’s Grace; Escape”.
“While antibiotics are necessary to treat infection at all ages, ongoing therapy focuses on airway clearance modalities. In young children, this consists of albuterol, hypertonic saline nebulization, and chest physiotherapy by hand. Older children and adults can use positive expiratory pressure devices and inflatable, vibrating vests to loosen the mucus so it can be cleared through coughing. This is a routine that takes a half-hour twice a day to enable the patient to function well throughout the day, which is a major time commitment…” ~ Vanderbilt University
The PCD Artist Project is a collaborative effort by artist to raise awareness for PCD or primary ciliary dyskinesia and support the PCD Smiles program. Each artist who submitted art work to the project either has PCD or has a PCD friend or family member.
