Primary ciliary dyskinesia is a rare, genetically heterogeneous disease that is associated with the absence of ciliary propulsive and sensory activities in the airways. The absence of ciliary function leads to mucus stasis, inflammation, and lower respiratory tract infections that cause bronchiectasis and progressive lung function decline. - “Safety and efficacy of the epithelial sodium channel blocker idrevloride in people with primary ciliary dyskinesia (CLEAN-PCD): a multinational, phase 2, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial”
The PCD Artist Project is a collaborative effort by artist to raise awareness for PCD or primary ciliary dyskinesia and support the PCD Smiles program. Each artist who submitted art work to the project either has PCD or has a PCD friend or family member.
